Why Is Getting Support So Important?

Physically, positive social connections have been linked to a stronger immune system, lower blood pressure, and a longer lifespan. Engaging with others often involves physical activities, promoting fitness and overall health.

Mentally, social interactions stimulate the brain, enhancing cognitive abilities and reducing the risk of mental decline as we age. Meaningful connections provide emotional support, reducing stress and anxiety. Regular social engagement also fosters a sense of purpose and boosts self-esteem, vital elements for mental well-being.

Emotionally, social connections offer a platform to share experiences, express feelings, and receive empathy. This emotional validation is essential for mental health. Positive social interactions release hormones like oxytocin, which promote feelings of trust and bonding, leading to emotional stability and happiness.
