Equal Opportunities Policy

Last reviewed:

The Healing Hubs is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in everything we do. We believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and that diversity makes us stronger. This policy applies to our services, employment, and volunteering.

1. Our commitment

We will not discriminate against any person on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

These are the protected characteristics set out in the Equality Act 2010, and we are committed to upholding them in all our activities.

2. Service delivery

Our services are open to all eligible people regardless of their background or protected characteristics.

We will make reasonable adjustments to ensure our services are accessible to people with disabilities.

We will provide information in accessible formats on request, including Easy Read, large print, and other languages.

3. Employment and volunteering

We recruit, train, and promote staff and volunteers on the basis of merit and the requirements of the role.

We will not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or victimisation in our workplace or volunteer community.

All job advertisements, application processes, and selection criteria are reviewed to ensure they are free from bias.

4. Responsibilities

All staff, volunteers, and trustees are responsible for upholding this policy and for challenging discriminatory behaviour when they see it.

The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy is implemented effectively.

5. Reporting discrimination

If you experience or witness discrimination, harassment, or victimisation, please report it to your line manager or the Chief Executive.

Complaints will be investigated promptly and confidentially in line with our Complaints Policy.

6. Monitoring

We monitor the diversity of our staff, volunteers, and service users to identify and address any inequalities.

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective and up to date.
